Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles included two episodes in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in The ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mom. Perry did not decide to explore acting as a profession after reaching adulthood because her parents were worried about the detrimental effects that stress could have. Perry was shy in high-school and was not a performer. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends when she moved to the university from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, moved into New York in search of TV roles. Perry was able to land small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness drove her to California to find theater work. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom on Broadway in 2013. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017 she had her own recurring part on her own ABC Political thriller Scandal starring her father. The same year the actress was selected to play the younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger version of her mother's character. The actress was chosen for the role despite her close relationship with the character's family.
